FAQs – Your Contributions

We track how much you have contributed to each investment over the lifetime of your account.

When you transfer money from one investment to another or make a withdrawal, the contribution amount is moved or withdrawn.

Two ways to get a better answer

Log in to your accountOpens in a new window. Under My Account section, click the account name then choose the Contributions tab.

Log in to your accountOpens in a new window. Under My Account, look for the Retirement Plans & IRAs section.

Select Manage Investments. Next, select Change My Investments and choose the IRA. Under Choose the Source Fund (Transfer from), select (a) the fund that you wish to transfer and (b) the dollar or percentage amount of the transfer. Under Transfer to New Portfolio, select the new allocation for the funds that were transferred. Then select Preview Changes to review and submit your transfer.

Log in to your accountOpens in a new window. Under My Account, look for the Retirement Plans & IRAs section.

Select Manage Investments. Next, select Change Allocation of Contributions.

Before you can make a contribution, you'll need to log into TIAA. Once you’re logged in, you’ll automatically be redirected to your Account Home page.

Scroll down until you reach My Accounts. Your IRA will be listed in this section. Once you've found it, use the Actions dropdown menu to the right to select Make a contribution.

Log in to your accountOpens in a new window. Under My Account, look for the Other Accounts section. Select Directly Held Mutual Funds to manage your mutual funds online.
To contribute to mutual funds online, under My Account look under QuickLinks. Click on Contribute to An Account, select Contribute to Your Mutual Fund Account.
