  1. Go to tiaa.org.
  2. Select REGISTER located at the very top right of the page.
  3. Follow the onscreen step-by-step instructions to obtain a user ID and password.
IMPORTANT! There’s one final step to complete your registration. At the bottom of the “Welcome” page, select Log in. For security reasons, this one time only, you’ll be asked a few questions to verify your identity.
Please note that you’ll need your Social Security number to complete your registration.

Once you’ve completed the identity verification steps, you’re all set to manage your TIAA accounts online.

Going forward, just log into your account at tiaa.org.

After you receive your secure one-time passcode, Log in to your account.

Under My Account, look for Retirement Plans & IRAs. Select Start & Manage Transactions.  Next, go to Pending/Submitted Requests section, enter your one-time passcode and click on Complete Validation. 

Alternatively, you may also enter your passcode via our 24-hour automated telephone system. Simply dial 800-842-2252 and say "One-Time Passcode."

    If we don’t have your bank information, visit our Support tab and click on Online Forms. Find and fill out an Account Services form. An automatic investment plan allows you to deposit a specific amount ($100 or greater) to your mutual fund account either every month or twice a month. Look for this option on your Account Services Agreement Form.

  • Before you can make a contribution, you’ll need to log into TIAA. Once you’re logged in, you’ll automatically be redirected to your Account Home page.

    Scroll down until you reach My Accounts. Your IRA will be listed in this section. Once you’ve found it, use the Actions dropdown menu to the right to select Make a contribution.

    Select Manage Investments. Next, select Change My Investments and choose the IRA. Under Choose the Source Fund (Transfer from), select (a) the fund that you wish to transfer and (b) the dollar or percentage amount of the transfer. Under Transfer to New Portfolio, select the new allocation for the funds that were transferred. Then select Preview Changes to review and submit your transfer.

  • After three consecutive invalid login attempts, online access to your account is locked. We lock online access to prevent fraudulent activity and to make sure "robot" password programs aren't run on your account.

    Select Unlock My Account on the screen that displays after a failed attempt to log in. Follow the prompts to confirm your identity and regain access. If you can’t unlock your account online, please call us at 866-207-6467, weekdays from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. (ET).

    To Edit Beneficiary Information, expand the beneficiary you would like to edit and click on Edit Beneficiary Information
    To edit Allocations, Beneficiary Type and Provisions, click on Edit Account Designations.
    To add a beneficiary, click on Beneficiary View tab, then click on Add Beneficiary.

    Any beneficiary change require one business day to process. During this time, you will not be allowed to make any other beneficiary changes for the specific account or contract.

  • Congratulations on your marriage! To change your name with us, you can either complete the Notice of Change of Name (PDF) , or by writing a letter to TIAA that includes the following:

    - Previous name (printed or typed) and previous signature
    - New name (printed or typed) and new signature
    - Social Security number or your contract number

    Note: Supporting documentation is required to effect a name change. Supporting documentation could be one of the following: marriage license, divorcee decree, adoption, court order. A notarized or certified copy of the court document will be sufficient proof to process a name change.

    If you own a retail class mutual fund account, you will need to complete a new application to change the registration on your account. In addition to the revised application, also include a letter of instruction stating the change of name and a signature in both your former and new name with a signature guarantee by an official bank representative who can verify your signature to one that is on file.

    Select Quicken Download.

    1. Choose Tools menu > Account List.
    2. Click the Edit button next to the brokerage account that you want to convert.
    3. If necessary, in the Account Details dialog change Tax Deferred Status to 'Yes', and Show cash in a checking account to 'No'.
    4. Click the Convert to a 401(k) button. Note: This button displays in the Account Details dialog only for brokerage accounts with the settings described in Step 3 above.

    If you have a Brokerage account, Under My Account, look for the Brokerage section, select the links within Research to download historical prices for select group of funds.

    For instructions on importing .CSV files into Quicken, access the Quicken Help section for the version that you use.

    Send the completed Transaction Routing Request form along with the TIAA cash withdrawal form directly to the TSA Consulting Group. The fax number and mailing address are located on the lower right corner of the Transaction Routing form on page one.
