Balancing three passions “My passions are fitness, family and filmmaking. I wake up at 4 in the morning most days and work out for 1-2 hours before I get my day started. Prior to my injury (torn Achilles) I was training for my first triathlon.”
Family comes first My workout partners tease me about my family activities. They all know that Friday morning after the gym is "Pancake Friday" with my two youngest sons where I rush out of the gym to make some exotic variation of pancake (lemon, PB&J, etc.).
The art of filmmaking My other major interest is filmmaking. I went to film school for college and, after graduating, worked on some major movies for 13 years. Then I took a job at [my university], drawing on my filmmaking experience as an editor.
Love for the camera “My passion follows me no matter where I am. One year my wife and I took an exotic vacation and I mentioned to her, ‘you know, we could retire down here and I could start up a video business on the island.’ Occasionally I still shoot independent shorts to try out a few tricks I know and hone some skills.”
