If you began your employment at the University of Tennessee prior to July 1, 2014, the University of Tennessee makes a 10% employer contribution to this plan for you. This plan does not allow you to make contributions in addition to those made by University of Tennessee. You can make additional contributions on your own to the Supplemental Retirement Account.
 
 
If you began your employment on or after July 1, 2014, the University of Tennessee makes a contribution for you (9% of compensation) and you must make a contribution as well (5% of compensation). A 2% Employee Auto-Enroll contribution will also be automatically made on your behalf to the Defined Contribution 401(k) Plan unless you opt out of this contribution. You can also make additional contributions on your own to the Supplemental Retirement Account.
You can invest into this plan right away.
Contributions to this account will be 100% vested immediately.
