Optional Retirement Savings Plan 401(a) for Hourly Employees

The contributions are based on a percentage of your compensation. Compensation represents base earnings excluding overtime pay, bonuses and any other forms of supplemental remuneration. Plan contributions by you are voluntary and are made either on a before- or after-tax basis. University Plan contributions will be made only if you have made your required contribution. The University will contribute 1% for every 1% of your pay you contribute, up to 4%.
All full-time-regular or benefits-regular employees who participate in the defined benefit (DB) University of Maine System Retirement Plan for Classified Staff (formerly the Non-Contributory Retirement Plan (NCRP)) are eligible for this plan. Hourly employees hired on or after July 1, 1998 are not eligible for this plan.
