Effective September 1, 2020: An eligible employee hired after 05/31/06 will begin participation in this plan on the plan entry date following fulfillment of the following requirement(s):
The completion of 1 year of service at the institution with the exception of the following employees:
  • President, vice president, associate vice president, dean, associate dean, assistant dean, full-time faculty employee, executive director, director and registrar who were enrolled in a previous employer's retirement plan will be eligible to participate immediately in the university's retirement program.
  • The plan contribution will be at the discretionary rate of the base gross salary determined by the Employer.
  • President, vice president, associate vice president, dean, associate dean, assistant dean, full-time faculty, executive director, director and registrar who were not enrolled in a previous employer's retirement plan will be eligible to participate immediately in the university's retirement program.
  • The plan contribution will be at the discretionary rate of the base gross salary determined by the Employer.
  • Upon completion of 1 year of service at the institution, the plan contribution will be at the discretionary rate of the base gross salary determined by the Employer.
All other eligible employees will begin participation in the plan after one year of service at the institution: 
  • Upon completion of 1 year of service at the institution, the staff member will begin participation in the plan at the discretionary rate of the base gross salary determined by the Employer.
  • Upon completion of 2 years of service at the institution, the staff member will begin participation in the plan at the discretionary rate of the base gross salary determined by the Employer.
While this is not an incentive matching plan, Stetson University contributes on behalf of eligible employees regardless of their own contributions.
