If you’d like to update the amount you’re contributing to each investment within your account:
  • Log into your account at TIAA.org
  • Select the MY ACCOUNT menu. Then select Change investments. You can research your available investment options as well as performance on the top of this page.
  • Select Change how future contributions are invested.
  • Follow the step-by-step instructions to make your changes.

TIAA does not charge a fee for moving investments from one fund to another. However, some mutual funds have a redemption fee when an investor sells share within a short period of time.

Some accounts contain multiple contracts which can be consolidated for easier money management. If your account offers this option, you can move money between any eligible contracts.
 
  • Log into your Account at TIAA.org.
  • Select the MY ACCOUNT menu. Then select Change investments.
  • Select Consolidate money within an account.
  • Follow the step-by-step instructions to make your changes.

  • Next, select Change investments within an account.

The balance of your portfolio's assets can shift over time. Rebalancing adjusts your asset allocations back to your original selection. If you’d like to rebalance your account:
 
  • Log into you account at TIAA.org.
  • Select the MY ACCOUNT menu. Then select Change investments. You can research your available investment options as well as performance on the top of this page.
  • Select Rebalance an account to stay on target.
  • Follow the step-by-step instructions to make your changes.  If you update your investment mix, you’ll have the option to apply it to future contributions.
Accounts can be rebalanced once or annually on your birthday.
