As a plan fiduciary, you are required to diversify plan investments to minimize the risk of large investment losses (unless it is imprudent to do so) and to be prudent in selecting and monitoring the plan’s menu of investment options. TIAA supports you and any advisor you may be working with in providing education to help you establish appropriate processes and documentation to fulfill your fiduciary obligations and help your employees effectively save for their retirements.

  • Investment Policy Statement Guidance
TIAA can discuss your retirement plan's investment objectives with you and provide educational assistance in developing investment processes, including the provision of a specimen investment policy statement for you and your attorney to consider.
  • Investment Menu Design Services
TIAA's Investment Services Group helps educate plan sponsors so they may develop and evaluate an appropriate investment menu for their retirement plans, develop investment review processes and documentation, and monitor their plan’s investment performance.
  • Investment Reviews
This service helps you meet your responsibility for ongoing objective monitoring of investment performance. The review includes all investments TIAA recordkeeps for the plan—both proprietary and nonproprietary, if applicable.
