CHICAGO, September 15, 2016 – Nuveen, an operating division of TIAA Global Asset Management, today announced that the NuShares Enhanced Yield U.S. Aggregate Bond ETF is now trading on the NYSE Arca under the symbol NUAG. This new exchanged-traded fund (ETF), the first product to be launched on Nuveen’s NuShares ETF platform, seeks to offer enhanced yield relative to the broad, investment-grade fixed income market with comparable risk and credit quality. Positioned as a distinct alternative to market-cap weighted strategies, the fund offers diversified fixed income market exposure coupled with access to the investment expertise of TIAA.
“We are pleased to bring this new offering to the market, as we have worked diligently to create a product which improves the way to access a core asset class,” said Martin Kremenstein, Managing Director and Head of Exchange-Traded Funds at Nuveen. “The launch of the fund showcases the strengths of Nuveen and TIAA by combining the skill set and expertise of our market-leading taxable fixed income franchise with the product development, delivery and distribution capabilities of Nuveen,” Kremenstein added.
The fund seeks to track the investment results, before fees and expenses, of the BofA Merrill Lynch Enhanced Yield US Broad Bond Index, a rules-based index designed to enhance income potential while seeking to maintain risk and credit quality at levels similar to that of the BofA Merrill Lynch US Broad Market Index. NUAG may be an attractive addition to a portfolio as a diversified core fixed income allocation.

Investing involves risk; principal loss is possible. There is no guarantee the fund’s investment objectives will be achieved. An exchange-traded fund seeks to generally track the investment results of an index; however the fund may underperform, outperform or be more volatile than the referenced index. Interest rate risk occurs when interest rates rise causing bond prices to fall. Credit risk arises from an issuer’s ability to make interest and principal payments when due, as well as the prices of bonds declining when an issuer’s credit quality is expected to deteriorate. These and other risk considerations are described in detail in the fund’s prospectus.
