Barton Grenning is a managing director and portfolio manager for TIAA Global Asset Management’s Emerging Markets Equity strategy. In addition, he manages a $450 million internal EM generalist portfolio and is a group head in active equity research responsible for managing a team of analysts covering emerging markets and Japan. He joined the TIAA organization in 2008.
Mr. Grenning has 26 years of financial services and investment experience. Prior to joining TIAA, he served as vice president at Pequot Capital running a long/short Asian portfolio within a global hedge fund. Previously, he held positions at Credit Suisse, Morgan Stanley and UBS in equity sales and investment banking, including a 2-year stint based in Hong Kong working in M&A investment banking.
Mr. Grenning earned a B.A., magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, in economics from the University of California, Berkeley.
