Company lauded for the fifth year in a row by Working Mother magazine for progressive programs that foster a supportive workplace for women
New York, NY – September 22, 2015 – TIAA-CREF, a leading financial services organization, announced today that it has been named one the 100 Best Companies for working mothers by Working Mother magazine. The list recognizes employers for outstanding leadership in establishing policies, programs and a corporate culture that supports working moms, including child care, flexible work arrangements, paid parental leave and the advancement of women. This year marks the fifth consecutive recognition for TIAA-CREF and the company’s ninth time receiving the award.
In addition, TIAA-CREF’s Selina Urbina, managing director and national practice management lead for the TIAA-CREF Institutional Retirement Business, has been chosen as a Working Mother of the Year. Urbina will be honored at Working Mother Media's Gala Dinner on Oct. 15 and profiled in the October/November issue of Working Mother magazine.
“TIAA-CREF is honored to be recognized by Working Mother for our support of working moms at all levels of our organization,” said Skip Spriggs, executive vice president and head of human resources at TIAA-CREF. “We also congratulate our colleague Selina who is a testament to the talent and commitment of the working mothers we are so fortunate to have on our team. Our company has built a culture where women can thrive by coming together and where working moms have the flexibility, support and opportunities they need and deserve.”
“As a 16-year veteran at TIAA-CREF and a mother of two, I’ve experienced first-hand the many ways that our company stands behind working moms,” said Urbina. “As an organization, TIAA-CREF offers an array of resources to help women balance their career and family commitments. And as individuals, women across the company take time to mentor and champion one another. I’m proud to say my company has the creative thinking and commitment to foster a work environment where women can excel – and, in turn, help TIAA-CREF serve our clients that much more effectively.”
