TIAA-CREF Names J. Keith Morgan as EVP, Chief Legal Officer
New York, July 28, 2015 — TIAA-CREF, a leading financial services provider, today announced the appointment of J. Keith Morgan as Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer (CLO). Morgan will be a member of the Executive Management Team, lead the company's legal, compliance and government relations functions, and report to TIAA-CREF president and CEO, Roger W. Ferguson, Jr.
"Keith's deep experience in financial services and its regulatory landscape will be a valuable asset to our organization and our customers as we continue to grow and evolve our business," said Ferguson. With more than 35 years of legal experience in the private and public sectors, Morgan is a proven leader who specializes in securities law, financial regulation, international transactions and mergers and acquisitions. Morgan spent nearly 20 years at GE, most recently serving as general counsel and senior vice president of GE Capital Corporation. Prior to joining GE, Morgan served as the managing partner of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher's London, Paris, and Saudi Arabia offices. Earlier in his career, he served in the U.S. Navy Judge Advocate General's Corps.

Morgan received his degree from Duke University and his JD from the University of Virginia Law School.
He will be based in New York and starts his new role August 10th.
Morgan succeeds Brandon Becker, who retired earlier this year after serving six years as TIAA-CREF's EVP and Chief Legal Officer. Becker remains a strategic advisor to TIAA-CREF.
