Consolidated platform will give employees access to a comprehensive investment menu and personalized advice services for retirement planning
New York, May 6, 2015 — TIAA-CREF today announced that Lane County in Oregon has selected the financial services provider to become sole recordkeeper of its 457(b) and newly offered 401(a) retirement plans. Under the arrangement, TIAA-CREF will recordkeep $85 million in assets for more than 1,700 plan members1 who will have access to a full suite of advice services and a consolidated investment menu.
By implementing a sole recordkeeping model, Lane County employees can take advantage of TIAA-CREF's robust retirement planning services, which include online, over-the-phone and face-to-face meetings with financial consultants during which employees can discuss their retirement goals and plans. Furthermore, plan administrators will be able to spend less time managing administrative tasks and more time focusing on their participants' retirement planning experience.
"We want to offer our employees the best possible experience as they prepare for their financial future, and the sole recordkeeping model allows us to do that," Mary Miller, benefits and wellness manager at Lane County, said. "TIAA-CREF stands apart by providing a range of resources and retirement planning tools, and we know it is committed to helping our employees achieve the positive outcomes they’re looking for."
"We’re happy to be working side by side with Lane County to help its employees plan for the future," said Ed Moslander, senior managing director and head of institutional client services for TIAA-CREF. "At TIAA-CREF, we recognize that retirement planning is about more than just the plan. It's about meeting with plan members personally to understand their financial dreams and then helping them create a plan to work toward those goals."
