NEW YORK (March 7, 2023) – TIAA, a leading provider of secure retirements and outcome-focused investment solutions to millions of people and thousands of institutions, selected Jim Mullery to serve as Head of Institutional Relationship Management and Shamila Rajaratnam as Head of Sales Enablement for the firm’s Retirement Solutions team. They join a cross-functional team of talented leaders focused on the service and success of TIAA’s plan sponsors, and participants.
Mullery was most recently Chief Sales & Distribution Officer for Prudential Retirement Strategies and Life Insurance. He comes to TIAA with a deep understanding of the institutional retirement and annuity business and has a proven track record of driving efficiencies and consistencies across integrated distribution and relationship management teams. Jim will start his new role March 1 and will be based in TIAA’s New York office.
Rajaratnam is the former head of Sales Enablement for the Institutional Investor Group at the Vanguard Group. In her almost 13 years with Vanguard, she held roles in Product, Participant Education and Enablement and gained significant experience in transformation efforts and driving cross-departmental collaboration. She will be responsible for executing strategies that will ensure client-facing teams have the tools and resources needed to deliver the experience TIAA’s clients deserve. Rajaratnam will start her new role March 27 and will be based in TIAA’s Philadelphia office.
