Company recognized for its commitment to diversity for the seventh year
January 21, 2015 — For the seventh year, TIAA-CREF is featured as one of the “40 Best Companies for Diversity” in the December 2014/January 2015 issue of Black Enterprise magazine.
The Black Enterprise survey measured more than 1,000 of the nation's leading companies in four key categories: Employee Base, Senior Management, Board of Directors, and Supplier Diversity. The survey focused on activities related to the participation of African Americans and members of other ethnic minority groups including women, the disabled, veterans, and the LGBT community.
“Diversity and inclusion is an integral part of our company’s business strategy, both internally and externally,” says Natasha Radden, Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer. “Our increasingly diverse marketplace requires us to meet a broad range of client expectations and needs. We are continuously looking for ways to foster an inclusive environment where we can leverage the talents, ideas and contributions of our diverse workforce to provide innovative solutions for our clients.”
The companies chosen for this year’s honors are recognized for their focus on Millennials, an age segment (18-29) that the Census Bureau projects to grow so diverse over the next several years that by 2028 the group will be named as a “Majority Minority.”
