TIAA Board of Trustees recognized for diversity, equity, and inclusion

Recently, the TIAA Board of Trustees’ leadership in diversity, equity, and inclusion was recognized by the National Association of Corporate Directors, the country’s leading organization of corporate directors.

“At TIAA, diversity, equity and inclusion are more than buzzwords,” said TIAA Board of Trustees Chairman James R. Chambers. “These values drive the mission and vision of the entire organization. We’re honored to be recognized for this ongoing work and remain committed to continuing working toward equity for clients and associates.”

The NACD award recognizes boards that have improved their governance and created long-term value for stakeholders by implementing forward-thinking diversity, equity, and inclusion practices. The TIAA board was selected for several commitments, including innovative programs like Be the Change, the TIAA People Equity Index, and social media and client development. The company also boasts diverse leadership teams, including its board of trustees. Of its 14-person board, two-thirds are women and half are ethnically diverse.
