Kourtney Gibson is the CEO of Retirement Solutions at TIAA, a leading retirement provider serving over 12,000 institutional clients, plan consultants and millions of employees in sectors including education, healthcare and government whose retirement plan assets total $955 billion.1

Prior to joining TIAA, Kourtney was President and ultimately Executive Vice Chairman of Loop Capital, a global investment services and advisory firm. Over her 20-year tenure, she shaped long-term strategy, steered the firm’s expansion across more than 80 countries, and built enduring relationships with corporate, government, and institutional clients. She led diverse business lines—including capital markets, asset management, sales and trading, operations, and strategy—demonstrating a breadth of leadership across revenue generation, risk management, and organizational development. Her ability to align people, capital, and resources to deliver results positioned Loop Capital as a trusted partner to some of the world’s most sophisticated investors and issuers.

Kourtney holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a BBA from the University of Miami. Kourtney sits on the Board of Directors for global financial technology leader, FIS and MarketAxess Holdings. She also sits on the board of trustees at Viterbo University and the Woodruff Arts Center. Additionally, she is an Executive Board member of the Miami Herbert Business School at the University of Miami, and a member of the LIMRA Retirement Plan Advisory Board and the Economic Club of Chicago.

She previously served on the boards of lululemon and is a past member of the Treasury Market Practices Group sponsored by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. She holds Series 7, 57, 24 and 63 FINRA registrations.

Kourtney’s leadership has been recognized by industry and financial press. She’s been named on American Banker’s annual list of “The Most Powerful Women in Finance”, Barron’s “100 Most Influential Women in U.S. Finance”, Pensions & Investments’ list of “Influential Women in Institutional Investing”, a CNBC Changemaker and an Ebony Power 100 Business Disruptor.

Her commitment to giving back to the community includes her role as a founding board member of the Dibia DREAM Foundation, which provides STEM education for underserved youth, and as a board member and Past Chairman of Chicago Scholars.
