TIAA is certified as one of Fatherly’s 2020 “Best Places to Work for Dads”. Each of the companies on the certification list executes progressive workplace policies that provide parents with the ability to fully support their families. TIAA’s commitment to providing all employees, including fathers, the support and flexibility they need represents a proactive movement towards gender equity.
“We’re proud to provide gender neutral parental leave benefits that enable parents to be present and prioritize the well-being of their families. We believe all parents deserve time with their children during these precious life moments,” said Sean Woodroffe, SEVP, Chief Human Resources Officer at TIAA.
One key benefits feature is TIAA’s gender neutral parental leave of up to 16 weeks fully paid, and the elimination of the distinction between “primary” and “secondary” caregivers to receive the benefits. This leave is also available to adoptive and foster parents. TIAA reports that fathers in their organization take an average of 13 weeks of parental leave. TIAA also provides generous benefits coverage for surrogacy, adoption, comprehensive fertility (IVF), and caregiving (child and elderly care), as well as programs and incentives promoting overall health, providing a more holistic support for an employee’s entire family.
The companies certified under Fatherly’s Best Place to Work for Dads program represent a wide variety of sectors and a shared commitment to ensuring the wellbeing of working parents. The Best Place to Work for Dads certification reflects a company’s ongoing commitment to gender equity and employee wellness, and its recognition of the needed investment in human capital and the prioritization of its employees’ needs.
